Katarina Shaw, B.A., J.D.

Katarina joined Waldman & Associates LLP as an articling student in August 2024. She has worked as an Associate with the firm since her call to the Bar in Ontario in June 2025. Katarina earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in June 2024 and graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Classical Studies in 2021.

Katarina regularly assists clients with refugee and immigration matters before the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court, and with applications to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Katarina has experience assisting clients with complex matters such as detention, inadmissibility allegations, and exclusion from refugee status. She particularly enjoys working on family reunification cases.

During her time in law school, Katarina worked at WazanaLaw, a leading immigration and refugee firm, as well as served as a student caseworker for the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic. During her undergraduate studies, Katarina worked at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Clinic and volunteered at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
